Akrotiri is a quiet village but of great interest and importance. It is situated on the southwest edge of Santorini, about 15 kilometers away from Fira, offering exquisite views of the island. It is famous for the lighthouse from where you can relish majestic sunsets.
In Akrotiri you have the opportunity to discover two wondrous beaches, Red Beach and White Beach. Red Beach is surrounded by reddish, steep cliffs that along with the dark blue waters form a stupendous contrast. White Beach, encircled with high, white rocks and covered in white pebbles.
Akrotiri village is home of the most historical treasure in Santorini, which is the archaeological site of Akrotiri, a very important prehistoric town of the Aegean that is totally worth a visit.

In order to reach the place from the port, take the bus from the Port to Fira and get off in Megalochori village. Then, take another bus with direction to Akrotiri village.
A beautiful, peaceful place. The hotel staff are kind and helpful. The breakfasts are delicious. It's clean. The terrace overlooks the sea. The walk to the sea takes only a few moments. We especially thank Nikki and the other staff for their smiles and hard work. They are wonderful, dedicated people. Thank you, and we recommend this place.
While not as fancy as some of the hotels on the island, we loved our time here. It is right on the sea front with amazing views. The rooms were clean, tidy and comfortable and it was reasonably quiet, unlike some other parts of the island. The staff were lovely and ready to help and we enjoyed the downstairs cafe on several occasions. If you are looking for a quiet base to explore the island from, you could do worst than the Hotel Akrotiri. If we come back we'll be booking again.
Absolutely loved this hotel! Such good value and you are right on the beach. If you hire a car it’s perfect as there’s a lovely little village with some great restaurants up the road & easy driving around the island. There’s also a bus stop right outside the hotel but check the schedule as it changes during seasons. The hotel was spotless, very Greek & authentic. The restaurant / bar area downstairs was also perfect. Breakfast was also lovely, especially the chocolate crepe!
Perfect place for an laid back and relaxing holiday! Nice and clean room, great breakfast, sea just few steps from your room. Mathios and he’s staff are superb.
