Crypt Exclusive Cave Suite with Indoor & Outdoor Plunge Pool & Caldera View

Do not book with Sophia “Luxury” Suites. We reserved the Poets Upper Floor Suite and it was beyond disappointing. We didn’t even unpack before checking out. The suite was shabby and dirty. The sheets were stained and had hair in them, as if they were only spot-cleaned. The room was dusty, smelled like it hadn’t been aired out in ages, and the daybed had visible dirt and stains. Paint was peeling off the walls and floor. The bathroom drain looked dirty and rusted, and the pool was filthy and genuinely looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. We immediately left and found another hotel just a short walk away, and the difference was night and day. When we contacted the third-party booking agency for a refund, the hotel offered to “inspect” the room, but the condition was far beyond something a sheet change could fix. They refused to refund even a portion of the stay, despite the room clearly not being as advertised. At this point, what can you reasonably expect in terms of customer service when Sophia Luxury Suites doesn’t even care for the basic upkeep of their own property?

Sophia Luxury Suites in Imerovigli is the ultimate haven for me. The exceptional customer service and their heartfelt welcome are truly uplifting. They made us feel like we were part of the family. Their warmth is genuinely inspiring. They also surprised us with a complimentary room upgrade and a delightful breakfast. We feel incredibly blessed to be away from home yet so well taken care of. The breathtaking view trom our hotel room is like a dream come true. We were treated to mesmerizing sunrises and sunsets. The room is incredibly spacious, complete with an abundance of towels, robes, and blankets. We also have a fridge and kettle at our disposal. We had the privilege of staying in the Poet House room. My heartfelt gratitude goes to the entire staff, the manager, and the team who carried our luggage and ensured our transfer was seamless from start to finish. Don't hesitate to book this hotel. Great views but overall we would not stay here again. The whole island is beautiful and worth visiting but if we come back we would stay somewhere not on the cliffside. Pros: -Amazing views from the balcony of the room (really, the whole cliffside location was gorgeous! ) -The soaking pool was a godsend on the hot days (its not meant to be super warm and was perfect to cool off in and watch the sunset from. The patio offered a nice place to relax between outings. -close to many restaurants and a few local stores where we could buy water, drinks and snacks. Cons: -Accessibility. It's not made clear on the booking site the number of odd shaped stairs you may have to descend/climb to reach/leave your room. if you have any sort of issue or disability this is not the place to stay. I get it's on the cliff side but it should be made more clear. -Room is spacious but the bed was a thin mattress on a concrete slab and was uncomfortable. Room also had 2 lights that did not work. -The service was not great, the room was located 10 mins away from the "front desk" of the hotel so getting anyone there in a timely manner was difficult. Also the porter times were limited and leaving early enough for our 9am flight seemed to be an inconvenience to the staff. -The room service food was delivered wrong and cold every morning we stayed there. I had to message many times on WhatsApp to get a response for corrections and even when I brought up my concerns they were ignored. Ultimately the location is beautiful and the views are spectacular but there some things that need to be shored up.

We stayed at Sophia Luxury Suites for 4 nights and really enjoyed the experience. The location is great, offering stunning views and easy access to nearby attractions. The room was clean and well-maintained, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The atmosphere was very quiet and peaceful — perfect for a relaxing getaway.
