Fira is the beautiful capital of the island, the biggest and most cosmopolitan settlement of Santorini. It is located in the western edge of the island, opposite the volcano.
Fira consists of natural beauty, social life, nightlife, and shopping, where you can feel the liveliness of the island and where all the action takes place. It is the only place in Santorini, where you can combine the spectacular view and the nightlife. There is a wealth of restaurants, cafés, bars, and clubs where you can relax and enjoy the tremendous view or dance and have fun. It actually owns the greatest dining out and entertainment selection of the island and the largest shopping center, too. Moreover, there are many clothes shops, gift shops, souvenir shops, supermarkets and other facilities for every need.

Friendly and professional staff. The view from our room and on the terrace during breakfast and dinner could be in a magazine. The servers were knowledgeable and would check in on our table various times throughout our breakfast, and also recommend things to do during our visit. The breakfast buffet was plentiful, with many options and included hot drinks prepared by the barista. The only cons I would mention is the slight smell from the toilet (this was only noticeable when the seat was up) and the frequency of the shuttles to fira, seeing as it’s a 5 minute drive they could have offered more than 5 departures throughout the day. Regardless, would definitely book again (rooms are half price during office season, we paid $900 euros for 5 nights)
Best hotel with the best view of the Caldera in Santorini. Excellent location and amazing staff. Worth the money and every corner of the property is pretty. Everyone raves about Oia n it's sunset view but in my opinion this hotel, and the restaurant has the best sunset view of the Caldera. It's conveniently located close to Fira. Very clean property with very good pools. One can never get tired of the amazing and breathtaking view.
Title: Trip ruined by rude staff and false advertising! Do not stay here with family! We booked the Volcano View Hotel expecting a beautiful family trip to Santorini, having included all details about our child in the reservation. Our excitement turned into a nightmare on October 12, 2025, at noon, when we were told at reception that the main property is "adults-only." This crucial information was never mentioned during our booking process. The staff's attitude was completely unacceptable. Instead of trying to help, the lady at the desk was shockingly rude and unhelpful. She refused to speak to us properly and simply dismissed our family's ruined plans. After a long, stressful conversation, her "solution" was to put us in a sister property that had no caldera or volcano view—the very thing we booked for. The misrepresentation and lack of communication from Volcano View wasted a significant portion of our precious and limited time in Santorini. We spent hours dealing with this mess instead of enjoying our vacation. The fact that the hotel took our family booking and then rejected us upon arrival is a pathetic bait-and-switch. This hotel has shown a complete disregard for its guests and should not be trusted. The staff's unprofessionalism and the bait-and-switch tactics are inexcusable. We were left scrambling to find new accommodations and completely lost the relaxing, beautiful experience we had planned. Our Santorini trip was completely ruined by this hotel's incompetence. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this place at all costs, especially if you have a family.
They don’t honor the room cost price match posted on their website. I truly do not like leaving reviews for properties not based on room quality or service but this is not ok. On their reservations page on the website, they have a statement that says they will price match from other sites. I was reserving a large number of rooms for my wedding and so I preferred to book directly with the hotel and wrote them asking for the price match. Someone wrote me back basically saying that sites like booking.com and Expedia pay them what they have posted and are able to post lower prices because they take a cut out of their fees. While this may be a true business model, it has nothing to do with the price match. The rooms on the hotel website were at least $500 more for the cheapest room category , so this mattered a lot since we are covering these rooms ourselves. Sad because I really wanted to stay here for my wedding but I didn’t get a good feeling from that interaction and this is a big event. I ended up booking 28 rooms for 4 nights at another property for my guests.
